Residential and Commercial Real Estate Closings

Representing and providing quality legal services to individuals, builders and developers of residential and commercial properties, lenders, purchasers and sellers in real estate transactions as well as homeowners in refinancing their properties. Over the years our law firm has served as closing attorney and settlement agent for thousands of closings. While non-lawyers can perform settlement services in Virginia, there are certain services that only licensed attorneys can render.

Attorneys are the only Settlement Agents that can, by law, address, discuss, and if necessary, resolve your legal issues and inquiries immediately at the closing table. Attorneys are the only Settlement Agents qualified, by law, to resolve disputed matters through mediation and other methods of dispute resolutions. Attorneys are the only Settlement Agents qualified, by law, to provide legal advice on legal issues and address the legal requirements pertaining to each individual real estate transaction in conjunction with the customized needs of the parties involved.

Our attorneys review all documents presented for a real estate closing and settlement from a legal standpoint thereby avoiding potentially costly errors.

In additional to residential closing services, we have served as counsel for lenders and borrowers on numerous large commercial closings, including one most recently in 2013 involving a commercial loan in excess of thirty million dollars.
